Atelier Mimito is also about slowing down, being mindful of what we make, and finding joy in the process. We hope our patterns help you build skills, confidence, and a more intentional approach to fashion.

 

The Designer

Hi, I’m Laurie Stefanizzi, the designer behind Atelier Mimito.

I started this small business out of a deep love for sewing and a growing frustration with fast fashion. After years of making my own clothes, I wanted to create patterns that help others do the same and make garment that fit well, feel good to wear, and are worth making more than once.

My approach to design is rooted in real-life wear: clean lines, thoughtful construction, and timeless silhouettes you’ll want to revisit again and again.

When I’m not drafting patterns, I run Little Stitch Academy, a mobile sewing school for kids and teens in Melbourne. Through hands-on lessons and school educational visits, we teach children how to sew, mend, and think critically about fast fashion and clothing waste. It’s a meaningful way to connect creativity with conscious living and to inspire the next generation of makers.
